About the Exhibition

The Light We Carry is a photo exhibition that uses light as a metaphor for an energy that guides the way. In this series, light is a way of finding self in spaces on ancestral land. In each photo, light emerges in different ways – natural, spiritual, artificial, and symbolic.

This is a collection of photos from my larger developing project on Eritrea and Home, where I connect with identity, culture, and belonging.

These particular photographs were made across different visits to Eritrea, and emerge from an ongoing practice of looking at home, distance, movement, and the quiet moments that guide us.
